Sam is a Sparkie, Dellen is a Cubbie. On Wednesday nights, they attend age appropriate Awana groups at church where they learn about Jesus and other Bible stories. They have memory verses to say each week. Since Sam has learned to read, getting him to actually memorize is a bit harder because he just likes to read the book! Dellen is very particular about whom he tells his verses to. This last Wednesday, he told one of the nice ladies who was filling in for the evening that he'd wait and say his verse to Mr. Kervin because he liked him.
Cubbies is for three year olds to Pre-K. Sparks is for Kindergarten through second grade. There are Truth and Training age groups for the older elementary kids. Once a year, the Sparks and Truth and Training groups have Game competitions with other area churches. And so, this last Saturday, we were able to participate in our first Awana games. Corn MB took second for both Sparks and T and T. Way to go! Sam had a great time!
