Sam Enjoys His Grandma and Grandpa Week in Colorado!

Sam just returned from his week with Grandma and Grandpa at the first "Grandma Week". Grandma (and Grandpa) decided to host a week for all school aged grandchildren and great nephews for a week. We've been anticipating this fun week for over six months, and can hardly believe it is a memory now. I'm sure Grandma and Grandpa will enjoy some peace and quiet now after a week of five boys ranging from six to twelve running around their house.

The youngest boys all flew to Denver. First, there was Ben (a great nephew) who turned seven in May and flew from Dallas. Second, Sam who will be seven in November and flew from Oklahoma City. Third, Caleb (another great nephew) who will be seven in December and flew from Kansas City. The flight scheduling alone took amazing planning and coordination. God was so good; flights went well both coming and going, gates were close to one another, and everything pretty much on time.

The fourth and fifth boys were two more grandsons, Payton (age twelve) and his brother Kyle (age ten). They were already in Colorado visiting their dad, and they arrived on Monday. That evening they had a surprise birthday party for Kyle.

The week was filled with fun outings like hiking and picnicing at Castlewood Canyon State Park, swimming, and the Denver Zoo! Lots of adventures and playing at the house and on the jungle gym that my dad made when I was little. And visits and outings with Aunt Alicia and Josh, and Aunt Whitney and Uncle Daniel and their new little bundle of joy Corwin, Sam's newest little cousin who was born in June. The last day, Great Grandma came over to witness and be a part of all the excitement!

Sam had so much fun! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for an excellent week!

Sounds like a great idea! Wonder if I could take my MIL into that? Probably not, since we all live so close. =)
