About a month ago, Russ and I were eating lunch one afternoon and heard quite a commotion out back. There has been one last empty lot on the next street over covered with several trees. We always knew it was a matter of time until building began. We were saddened to see the trees being dug up. Work began immediately afterwards to start digging out a basement. 
Because it takes me so long to get around to getting my pictures online, below is the view as of this morning. We’ve had much needed rain this week. A huge blessing (but ironic as we sit inside during our spring break). The rain has seized the building production; a welcome relief from the beeping of machinery.
Can you see the transition from winter to spring that has taken place between these two photos? We had a most marvelous weather week last week full of sunshine, followed by three days of gentle rain. Tree blossoms have bloomed and now our grass has come alive in a vivid green splendor. In the fall, we reseeded quite a bit after last summer. There were still some spots to address, and this rain has provided the perfect timing to scatter about more seed. I want the green thickness of the fescue grass compared to the bermuda that we were accustomed to in Oklahoma. It is unfortunate that it needs a bit more maintenance, but I do like it tremendously better!

Oh wow, what a bummer about losing your lot of trees. Looks like a lot of commotion. I love your blooming tree and green grass. Isn't spring marvelous??
