June Jaunts

June has been a whirlwind of happenings. At the moment, I am sitting in the Miami airport as I peck away on my phone.
Today marks six months since our belongings were unloaded in KS. We have walked a balance between two life chapters; what often feels like two lives. I still feel very unorganized at times and have boxes to go through.

Russ has been gone a lot to the various camps. During the senior high camp time, the boys and I went to my cousins wedding in east Texas with my parents and one of my sisters and her family. It was a fun time; I'm glad we could go and spend time together and also see a new area of the country.

At home once again, we have enjoyed swimming and both boys have been playing summer baseball, and doing great at that as well. :) Gramps and Grams have been faithful fans and Papa and Mema trekked up for a visit and ball games this last week as well.

(Dellen threw this ball to first. His teammate was telling him to throw it home.)
Russ directed junior camp again this year, and the boys and I made several trips to Tabor to join in the various activities. Thursday afternoon water games are an absolute favorite; mainly thanks to dear Hal, youth pastor in Weatherford. Three years ago he doted precious one on one time to Sam. Hal is on a three year rotation as camp speaker. No other water games time had competed with that one three years ago until this year when Hal was back as speaker. Dellen was equally excited to have the love and attention. Sam is counting down his years until he is at camp, and has figured out that Hal will be the speaker during his second year as a camper!

And of course, riding around with the camp director is always a must do experience as well!

And now for why I am at the Miami airport. While at National Youth Conference in San Antonio in March, Russ won a trip with Students International to be part of a vision trip to the Dominican Republic to explore the mission opportunities there. They were thrilled that I wanted to come also, and we've worked out that most of my trip has been covered as well. The boys are with Gramps and Grams. Russ and I should have arrived last night after four flights, but in the middle of our third flight we were rerouted to Key West for fuel after hanging out in the air due to the storms over Miami. Unfortunately, we all had to stay seated on the plane. By the time we arrived in Miami, the last flight was long gone. Thankfully we were able to get on an 11:20 flight today. So, once again, we are getting ready to board. I have the opportunity to have flown 12 times within less than three weeks times, but more on that excitement later!

There is an update of sorts. I wish I could really articulate all the thoughts and feelings of the month.
